Patna: About 2,000 police personnel along with the ATS-SWAT team and STF-QRTs will still be used in Patna for three days to provide security protection to President RAM Nath Kovind who arrived in the city to attend a hundred-year celebration of the Celebration of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
The President will arrive Patna from Delhi around 1pm on Wednesday.
He will attend the main program of the Centenary Celebration of the Legislative Council from 11am to 12 a night on Thursday.
The program also includes a visit to Gurdwara at Patna Sahib.
He will depart from Patna at around 11:50 a.m.
on Friday.
In accordance with higher authority, the speaker assembly and secretary of their own head of self-chief has held several meetings to exercise every aspect every minute including the security of the President’s visit to make it smooth.
IG (Central Range) Sanjay Singh said that the Liaison Security (ASL) meeting had previously been held for the President’s visit with SPG personnel.
“On Tuesday, we managed to complete the movement of a real-time dry convoy that will start from the airport and go elsewhere like Raj Bhawan, Spot Centenary Program, Khadi Mall which is in the program schedule during a visit,” he said.
Singh said at least 1,500-1,600 police and more than 300 to 400 officers and judges would remain deployed for the security of the president for his patna visit.
IG said about the total placement of around 2,000 personnel, who would be inside and around the place and road, 1,000 were allocated to police Patna by the National Police Headquarters.
He said the hotel, bus stations and train stations were examined and monitored tightly.
The SWAT team (special weapons and tactics) of anti-terrorism (ATS) and the fast reaction team (QRT) Special task unit (STF) will also be used at vantage points and in standby mode for immediate reactions.
A senior IPS officer, prefers anonymity, said the spread of SWAT ATS for the VVIP movement in the existing global scenario is mandatory practice.
“The SWAT team will not be involved in direct security settings for the President.
They will remain on standby and will be used as needed,” he said.
ADG (Operation) Sushil Mansingh Khopde said the police Patna had asked the STF QRTS which had been provided to be used according to their needs.
“QRTS will be ready to help the authority that manages overall security,” he said.
ADG (Head Office) Jitendra Singh Gangwar said all due to security settings in each program venue and route for the President according to the blue book rules had been made.
“All security related equipment needed including vehicles has been provided as needed.
Additional forces and senior police officers have also been provided,” he added.
