Coimbatore: Three DMK members were arrested on Tuesday because they tried to kill party officials in Selvapuram here on Monday night for previous hostilities.
Selvapuram Police said the trio – 22 years R Sanjay Kumar, from Selvapuram, 24-year-old Vikki aka Vishnuprasad, from Pongaliyur near Veergeralam, and 2 years old Khan Shalful, from Kuniyamuthur – has attacked the Selvapuram area of the DMK Secretary of the Mani Cable, 38, with a sickle and knife At his home on Monday night.
“The mani suffered pieces in hand and chest.
When his supporters rushed to his house to hear him crying, the trio escaped.
They rushed Mani to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, where his condition was said to be stable,” said an investigative officer to Ti.
The officer said that the Mani and his supporters had attacked Uncle Sanjay Kumar N Rajesh Kumar, 33, Furs, while he stood in front of the Selvapuram housing unit on Sunday night.
“While we have registered a case against the mani and 20 supporters based on complaints of Rajesh, Sanjay, along with his friends, taking revenge on the semen on Monday night for attacking his uncle.” Based on complaints of Mani, Selvapuram police registered a case against the trio below 147, 148 and 307 from the Indian criminal code and arrested them on Tuesday morning.
They are then returned in court detention.
