New Delhi: Three men were arrested for allegedly robbing a tempo driver in the Shalimar Bagh Northwest Delhi region, police said on Saturday.
The defendant has been identified as Karan (18), Raghav (20) and Gulshan (25), all residents of Sahhipur, they said, adding all three were childhood friends.
On Thursday, the police received information about someone who was hospitalized due to a stab injury, police said.
During the investigation, the injured person said he would go to Madhuban Chowk from Badli in his tempo.
He stopped his vehicle near the gas station at Haiderpur when he rained, said a senior police officer.
Three people came to the scooter, threatened him with a knife and tried to rob him.
When he refused, one of them stabbed him in the stomach and others took his cellphone and his wallet, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) said Usha Rangnani.
The three then escaped from the place, he added.
The injured person was hospitalized, police said, added that he was stable now.
During the investigation, the police checked CCTV recording places.
Then, three people accused of Nabbed, said DCP.
The defendant who was arrested was a childhood friend and was because of their addiction to drugs and alcohol, they began to commit crimes, police said.
Robbed phones, knives and stolen scooters, used in the crime commission, recovering from their ownership, they added.
