New Delhi: Three men, including application-based bicycle service riders, were arrested for allegedly robbing passengers in the Sonia Vihar Northeast Delhi area, police said on Tuesday.
Allegations have been identified as Shubham Mishra, Amit Chauhan and Arjun, all the residents of Sonia Vihar, they said.
On Thursday, PCR’s call on the robbery was received at the Sonia Vihar police station from Unnao above.
The caller told me that on Wednesday, his brother Ashish was robbed at Sonia Vihar, police said.
Ashish said that on Wednesday, he reached the Old Delhi train station to appear for interviews in Noida.
He ordered an application-based bicycle service and one driver picked him up, police said.
Because he didn’t realize the route, the driver took him to the Yamuna River.
After going up about 45 minutes, he turned the motorcycle into the field.
Meanwhile, three people in auto-rikshaw also reached there.
They seized his belongings and escaped from the place, said a senior police officer.
During the investigation, the bicycle application service was contacted to ensure the driver’s identity along with motorcycle details.
Then, the police traced the owner of the motorcycle used in crime, the officer said.
The motorcycle owner revealed that the bicycle was used by his younger brother Shubham Mishra.
In addition, Mishra was arrested on Sunday at 6pm from Sonia Vihar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Sanjay Kumar Sain said.
Mishra, who drew graduating from the University of Delhi, revealed that he, together with his colleagues, robed passengers.
Then, Chauhan and Arjun were also arrested.
Efforts are being made to capture one absconding associate, DCP said.
Allegations recognize their crimes and reveal that they are addicted to narcotics and work in a group, police said.
One motorcycle, one knife, rob a cellphone, earphone, etc., restored from their ownership, added the police.
