331 school students, teacher tests + ve in DK

Mangaluru: A total of 331 school students and teachers have tested the positive SARS-COV-2 virus as on Thursday.
However, the majority of them have mild or asymptomatic symptoms, and none of them are hospitalized.
According to available data, from 331 people who tested positive, 228 of them were students, and the rest were teachers.
Dakshina Kannada Ddpi Sudhakar K said that the majority of cases were reported at composite schools, which have elementary and secondary schools on one campus.
He said that every Taluk has reported positive cases among students.
The highest number of cases was reported at Mangaluru Taluk, followed by Bantwal and Putture.
“All students and teachers who are tested are positively fine.
They are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms,” said Sudhakar.
Although the Covid-19 case increased, only a few people were advanced to be tested, said Sudhakar.
“Parents do not encourage their children to be tested.
As a result, many who take free drugs, every time they have fever or other symptoms of Covid-19,” Sudhakar said.
As on Friday, a total of 12 schools in all districts have been closed, because they reported more than five cases of Covid-19 each.
“Some schools have been closed as precautions.

Meanwhile, during our recent video conference meeting, we have asked for school to make their own decisions, to switch to online teaching mode .
The DDPI office has notified the school that they can switch to online teaching mode, every time they decide, and do not need to wait for government permission for the same thing, “he said.
At the closing of the complete school throughout the district, Sudhakar said that there were no plans to do the same now.
“We can turn off the school, only if the condition is not profitable to run school.
At present, there is no need to panic,” he said.

The target is to vaccinate 55,298 beneficiaries in this age group.
So far, 45,682 of them have received their first dose of vaccines to protect against Covid-19.
