Mysuru: Although the state government has accelerated the process of distributing textbooks to students after the High Court pulled it to question the delay, 37% of school students studying in schools managed by the government and assisted from class 1-10 have not received textbooks.

Of a total of 7,56,301 students in the government, private schools assisted and without assistance, textbooks provided so far were supplied to 63.3% in Chamarajanagar Regency, V Shankar, senior official in the public teaching department responsible for the distribution of textbooks, said.
Because the offline class has not been continued for class 1-5, instructions have been given to the principal and teacher each to visit households and distribute textbooks.

Of the 973 elementary schools in this district, 744 is run by the state, 43 assisted and 140 is a school without assistance and 36 is another housing school.
The district has 266 secondary schools and from them, 86 is the government, 55 compared, 62 private and 26 other secondary schools, said source.
When textbooks are supplied from the Printing Unit Bengaluru, Gadag and Ballari, the Ministry of Public Instruction has prepared a route map so that they are directly supplied to the district block headquarters.
According to the information on the department, the distribution of textbooks has been completed in the collegal block and most of the students in the region have received it, he said.
“Other educational blocks such as Chamarajanagar, Hanur, Hanandur and Gundlupet must receive a delayed textbook from the printing unit.
After the inventory arrives from the Bengaluru, Ballari and Gadag unit, the distribution of textbooks will be completed on September 25,” he told TII.
