Lucknow: a large increase of 37% has been proposed in the budget allocation for Uttar Pradesh police in the upcoming financial year even because the expenditure is almost doubled under the current regime.
Senior Department of House officials said the expenditure of more than RS 41,236 Crore was proposed in the financial year-2022-23, which was 37% more than 2021-22.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting led by the Head of Secretary, Houses, Awasthi and DGP beating additional goel at the House of Rumer’s command center at Lok Bhawan on Tuesday.
The proposal includes efforts to strengthen fire services to the level of tea and to complete all the forensic science laboratories with the resources needed on priority.
The home department has also emphasized special emphasis on the initial formation of the Forensic Institute Institute in Lucknow, in addition to strengthening STF, ATS, intelligence tissue and up 112 to make it more alert.
Awasthi said the police department budget saw a sharp increase during the current government reign.
“In 2017-18, the total budget was Rs 16,239 Crore, which increased to Rs 30,105 Crore at 2021-22,” he said.
