T’puram: The country witnessed 3,777 positive cases of 57,121 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Among new cases, 3,242 people qualified for vaccination, 1,855 had taken both doses, and 1,044 did not even take a single dose.
With 34 deaths again in the last few days it was recorded as Covid death and 109 deaths added from the appeal received, the death toll in the country had risen to 42,967.
The current total active case is 38,361, including 8.1% of people received both in hospitals or other care centers.
At the same time, 3,856 patients had recovered from this disease.
Among new cases, 3,572 cases have been infected through local deployment.
Infection’s contact sources cannot be traced to 171.
There are 23 health professionals among those infected and 11 people have arrived from outside the country.
Thiruvananthapuram reported the highest number of cases – 808, followed by Ernakulam (590), Kozhikode (505), Kannur (249), Kollayam 242), Kollam (229), Thrissur (222), Idukki (182), Idukki (182), Pathanamthitta (170), Wayanad (110), Alappuzha (96), Kasaragod (80) and Palackad (80).
There were a total of 1,61,911 people currently observing in various districts, where 1.57,577 were in their homes or institutional quarantine centers, and 4,334 in isolation at the hospital.
In accordance with the weekly infection population ratio, six wards in five local bodies have more than 10% WIPR.
