Gurugram: Four Youth – All aged 20-25 years – died after being hit by a train near the Gurugram train station on Tuesday.
The police said they were trying to take a selfie on the train by train moving in the background.
The youth had been identified as Sameer Kumar, Mohammad Anas, Yusuf alias Bihola and Yuvraj Gogia, all residents of the evil colony in sector 9, said a police officer.
The accident, according to Police Railway Police (GRP), occurred around 5pm near the repair of the under construction train (Rob) when Ajmer-tied Jan Shatabdi Express from Sarai Rohilla Delhi moved from the Gurugram train station to Basai.
Three young men posed while the fourth handed cellphone to catch a selfie on the railroad when the train approached, a GRP officer said, added that even when it came close enough, the young men did not move as they wanted to move the train in the picture and was hit.
Jan Shatabdi Express, which starts from the Sarai Rohilla train station in Delhi and goes to Ajmer in Rajasthan, leaving the Gurugram train station with a little before 5pm.
All four were killed in place.
Immediately after the information received from the train driver, a team from the GRP police station reached the place and took their bodies to the morgue.
The police restored the damaged iPhone and scooter from the place.
“The accident occurred right before the train station near Rob.
All young men have been identified,” said Pawan Kumar, responsible for the GRP police station, Gurugram.
