Coimbatore: The company promosesi promotion of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) has identified 400 hectares of private companies in tendrils for the defense park.
The District Revenue Department official sent a proposal to the Office of the Commissioner of the Land Administration Agency (CLA) in Chennai to obtain land.
The land belongs to a limited dynamic technology based on Bengaluru.
The company has acquired 12MW Wind Farm in Varapatti Village in Talur Taluk in September 2008 from Tamil Nadu Petroproducts Limited.
Agriculture consists of 48 windmills at 440 hectares of freehold land.
Officials of the Revenue Department said, “Sipcot officials from Chennai have examined the land.
We have sent a proposal to the CLA office recently for the land acquisition process and is waiting for a reply.
Sipcot will take care of the cost of land acquisition.” MV Ramesh Babu, President, Coimbatore The District Industries Industries Association, told TII that private companies were ready to hand over land to Sipcot to establish a defense park.
“If Sipcot carries two major players in the defense sector to the park, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the district will get a lot of work and it will create many employment opportunities.” He said MSME players were also ready to set up their units in the defense park.
“Our members produce various components in the district for the defense sector.” Ramesh Babu said the industrial sectors gradually recovered from the impact of pandemics and projects such as the defense park would help spur the growth of MSMEs.
