Mangaluru: A total of 4,857 students in Dakshina Kannada appeared for the national feasibility test (NEET) to enter undergraduate medical courses at 10 centers in Dakshina Kannada, after the Covid-19 protocol on Sunday.
Apart from the delay in conducting the exam because the second wave of Covid-19, the majority of students that Ti spoke to, said that they were low with confidence to take the test, because they had prepared online mode.
Likitha K from Puttur said that he had to choose Neet training online, because in-people’s coaching was not available because of a pandemic.
“I feel I’m not quite ready for the test,” he said, before entering the inspection center.
Prajwal n, accompanied by his father, a driver, traveled here from Kumta in the district of Uttara Kannada.
He said, “Is my father’s dream that I became a doctor.” Kushi Naveen and Chaitra Rathod, students from a college in Moodabidri, remain back on campus to prepare for the exam.
“Just staying back on campus gave us enough time to prepare for the exam.
Our classmates who came home and studied online, said that they were often disturbed, and said that they could not prepare well,” they said.
Kushi and Chaitra have tried CET.
In one center in the city, students are intended to increase their confidence as soon as they occupy their seats, and before the test begins.
Meanwhile, there are many students who are writing the exam for the second time, or those who have rested for a year.
“My daughter was pursuing the second year of BDS at a private college in Mangaloru.
Because his dream was entering MBBS, he had decided to write Neet again.
If he was lucky, he would be able to join the MBBS course,” said the parents from Davanagere.
Candidates from Kerala must produce RT-PCR negative test reports to enter Mangaluru.
