Kanpur: The fourth set of Metro Kanpur arrived in the city on Saturday from Savli in Gujarat.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to launch the Kanpur Metro service on December 28.
The third collection of Kanpur Metro has arrived on November 29.
Before the commercial launch of Kanpur Metro, six Metro trains will be available.
The six trains will run in nine kilometers priority corridors.
Now, UPMRC has four sets of metro in the kitty.
Two more trains will arrive through the road immediately.
Two sets of metro trains will arrive here maybe after the launch of the Kanpur Metro service.
Thus, there will be a total of eight sets of metro trains.
However, two trains will be stored in reserves and will remain parked at the depot built at the intersection of Gurudev City.
The fourth metro train that arrived here on Saturday was revealed and will now be discarded so that it can be used in the next few days.
Each Metro train has three trainers and the capacity to accommodate 974 passengers.
As many as 39 Metro trains will run in the Kanpur Metro corridor.
At present, the priority part of the first corridor is ready which is nine kilometers away from IIT-Kanpur and ends in Motijheel.
The work on the first corridor in front of Motijheel was also ongoing.
From Chunniganj (the next locality after Motijheel), the first underground metro station will be built.
The work to build an underground metro station is underway at the Naveen market.
