MySuru: To protect the interests of farmers, 50% subsidies on transportation of fruits and vegetables that are notified by railroad trains have been announced by the central government.
In the press record released on Sunday, South Western Railway, the commercial manager of the Senior Division of MySuru Division, Manjunath Kanamadi, said that the Union of the Ministry of Food Processing (MOFPI) has extended 50% subsidies about the transportation of fruits and vegetables that are notified by the Kisan train below ‘Greens Operation – Total Top’.
In this scheme, 50% of subsidies are allowed in shipping costs to transport commodities that are notified, the benefits will be extended by the head of the supercisor parcel at the loading station.
The aim is to protect fruits farmers and vegetables from making sales depressed, and reduce post-harvest losses.
Qualified plants are mango, bananas, guava, kiwi, litchi, papaya, mausambi, orange, kinnow, lime, lemon, pineapple, pomegranate, jackfruit, apples, almonds, amla, fruit and pear passion in the category of fruits, And nuts, bitter gourd, brinjal, capsicum, carrots, cauliflower, green chili, fingers, cucumbers, peas, garlic, potatoes and tomatoes in the vegetable category.
