Thiruvananthapuram: Kazhakkoottam police on Sunday arrested a 52-year-old man on charges of sexual exploitation of a 13 year old girl.
The identity of the defendant was detained because he was a close relative of the girl.
The police said that the defendant, who was a carpenter by the profession, began exploiting the girl sexually three years ago when the girl was only 10 years old.
He was also accused of sending pornographic content to the girl through WhatsApp Messenger.
Recently, the girl revealed this problem with her sister, who in turn told parents.
Immediately, parents filed complaints before the police who finally led to the arrest of the arrest accused.
