Bengaluru: In an effort to promote Kannada, the Karnataka Government on Thursday held a music program where five lakh people from all countries sang three songs simultaneously.
The Kannada and Cultural Department held a musical feat coordinating with the three district administration, Kannada Association and private organizations abroad.
The program was held ahead of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebration to mark the unification of all regions of Language Kannada.
The three popular Kannada songs were written by the famous poet Raastrakavi Kuvempu, Nisar Ahmad and the lyrics of Hamsalekha were sung at 11am by 5 lakh people.
The Chairman of the Bukavaraj Minister Bommai participated with all bureaucrats and staff members in the singing program from Vidhana Soudha.
The program was also held near the High Court, in all government offices, schools and colleges, across the MySuru Palace, on the Hampi World Heritage site, and engineering and medical high school.
People are also urged to take part in programs at all bus stops, auto stands and industrial areas.
The government has appointed Nodal officers for each district.
In addition, this program was held at all Karnataka airports and music groups conducted songs on all metro trains simultaneously.
People even join online programs to participate.
“Lineu Kannada Dimdivava”, “Jogada Siri was mentioned” and “Huttidare Kannada Nnadal Huttabeku” chosen for the show.
Cultural Minister V Sunil Kumar who has taken a full interest in organizing a special program said that Kannadigas from all over the world expanded their support and helped the government in implementing it.
