Pune: A random positive sample for Covid-19 sent for the genome sequencing of the Pune district causes detection of six cases of omicron variants in the state on Saturday.
From them, Pune Rural contributed three cases, while 2 came from Pimpri Chinchwad and one of the city limits Pune.
With this, the total number of cases of Omicron countries has increased to 460, while 180 patients have been dismissed.
A total of 4,000 samples were sent from Pune and Mumbai from December 21-31 to ensure early detection of community outbreaks.
