Ahmedabad: Because Gujarat argues that with four news from the frozen country to death near the US border, it has emerged that two families from Gandhinagar village have been lost on their way to the US through Turkey.
The two families consisted of six members, according to Gandhinagar police.
Sources in the police said that two different patel families from a village in Kalol Taluka from Gandhinagar had gone to the US through Istanbul.
Resources said that they were kidnapped by human traders in Istanbul and had been held for ransom.
“One family consists of Tejas Patel, his wife Alka, and their son Divya,” said a police officer Gandhinagar.
“The second family member was Suresh Patel, his wife Shobha, and their daughter foram.
They have left their village for the US in the last week of December or the first week of January.” Officers said that the Indian Embassy in Istanbul received complaints about kidnapping from relatives and friends of the people victim.
A CID (crime) team has tried to reconstruct the family schedule: how they go to Istanbul and how they intend to reach the US.
Officers refused to mention the village because of an ongoing investigation.
Jagdish Patel, his wife, and two small children who perished near the US border were expelled from their journey by their taluka agent.
Police sources said the same shadow travel agent might be involved in sending both families to Istanbul.
