Chennai: Eliminating a lot of money in gambling online, a driver of the Autorickshaw changed the Snatcher chain to pay his debt in Maduravoyal.
He was arrested on Monday night with the help of CCTV recording, police said.
On December 18, one tilapia was at the bakery at Parasakthi Nagar in Tiruverkadu when Ezhitai, 35, the driver, grabbed his 15-sovereign gold chain and escaped.
Based on his complaint, Tiruverkadu police registered the case and launched the hunt.
While scanning CCTV’s footage, they found a man looked suspicious riding autorickshaw.
With the help of the autorickshaw number, the police set his identity.
During interrogation, Ezhumalai, a father of two people, told the police that he had lost Lakh Rupee in gambling online and took to take a chain to pay for his debt.
