Bengaluru: Karnataka on Saturday recorded 636 COVID-19 cases of fresh and four deaths, encouraging the overall cover to 29,77,225 and fatality to 37,811.
That day also saw 745 people being repatriated, taking the total recovery amount to 29.27.029.
Active cases reached 12,356, said Bulletin Department of Health.
Bengaluru Urban contributed the maximum amount of 245 cases and one death, he said.
Dakshina Kannada District, bordering Kerala, remains the main Covid-19 hotspot with 100 fresh infections.
Other districts also reported new cases, including 44 each in Hassan and MySuru, 30 in Tumakuru, 28 in Kodagu, 25 in Udupi and 22 in Shivamogga.
Bagalkote, Bidar, Gadag, Kalaburagi, and Yadgir reported zero infection and no death.
Twenty-eight districts reported zero death, said Bulletin.
A total of 1,69,319 samples were tested in the state on Saturday, taking a cumulative number of specimens checked as far as 4.79 crores.
The number of vaccinations carried out so far in the state rose to 5.69 crores, with 2,72,721 people inoculated on Saturday, he said.
