Mumbai: BMC on Friday made compulsion of a 7-day house quarantine for all passengers who took flights from Dubai and arrived in Mumbai.
On a new selection, BMC said that all international passengers arrived from Dubai and which were Mumbai residents had to undergo a compulsory quarantine for 7 days.
But they don’t need to do a RT-PCR test at the airport if they are fully vaccinated on arrival.
BMC said that 12 countries were on a list of risky but Dubai countries were the travel center where passengers change flights and have a mixing of passengers at Dubai International Airport.
The new rules were issued after the threat of omicron variants from passengers arriving from Dubai.
Passengers who are not residents of Mumbai will be allowed to leave the airport but those who live in Maharashtra will be transferred by collectors to their home cities and they will not be allowed to take public transportation.
Those from other states will be allowed to take connected flights but the airport authority must notify the purpose of their airport home about their arrival from Dubai.
BMC said that Mumbai residents who arrived from Dubai would be contacted by the neighborhood room for 7 days when they were in the quarantine of the house and will be tested on the seventh day.
If they test the negative, they will monitor themselves for the next 7 days.
If they test positively, they will be moved to institutional quarantine.
