Vadodara: The roar at the main gate of their colony near Lake Timbi, late on Sunday night, leaving some strange residents shaken into their core when a long-scale crocodile with a wide open jaw was found staring at them from outside the gate.
“We got a call from the residents of Lake Pochi Society and at the time of our volunteers reached the place, the reptile sneaked away to the bushes nearby.
We need about half an hour to save big reptiles and give it to the Department of Forest Waghodia,” said Raj Bhavsar, Gujarat community For prevention of cruelty of animals (GSPCA) which saves crocodiles with SOS wildlife.
Volunteers say that reptiles must travel from Lake Timbi in Waghodia, home to several crocodiles, while migrating to another place.
The other six-foot crocodiles were saved from Sultanpura Village on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday.
Wildlife Rescue Trust (WRT) volunteer said that they got a call from the village that reptiles crawled into a room in the open field.
WRT volunteers rushed to the place and saved reptiles.
Two crocodiles also died in Karjan after they were hit by a train while trying to cross the railway.
