Rajkot: Four days after a farmer – who was also used to work as a traditional physician – was killed, Rustic police Rajkot arrested seven people for crime on Monday.
The 65-year-old Mavji Vasani was found killed in Devpara Jasdan Taluka Village from Rajkot District in the early hours of July 1.
“Vasani was strangled to death on his agriculture on the outskirts of Devpara Village.
We found objects scattered in his room and suspected that the man was killed with intention to carry out a booty,” said a police officer.
The police probe revealed that the victim was captivated by two women – Rajal Dodia (38) and Pooja Solanki (35).
The defendant knew that Vasani took care of cash and valuables in the farm.
Rajal and her husband Hitesh Dodia (45) hatched plans to kill him and then carry out booty.
“Hitesh employs five workers, all the natives of Rajasthan, to commit murder and loot.
We have caught Hitesh, Rajal, Pooja and four workers – Anand sang Kotval, (21), Vikas Swami (20), Nitesh Jahangir (24), Sandeep Pasania (22).
Other workers are amit under running around, “police said.
Police recover cash 1.67 lakh cash, gold ornaments worth Rs 92,000, silver jewelry worth Rs 2.35 lakh, automatic rickshaw, eight cellphones and bicycles from the defendant.
