Nashik: Nashik Zone of Electrical Distribution Company Maharashtra State Limited (MSEDCL) – Consisting of Nashik and Ahmednagar Regency – fifth place in the state for receiving around 73% of the total bills produced for November through online payments.
In accordance with the data provided by the country’s power utility, the zone witnessed RS 340 Crore’s payment which was 73.3% of the total bill produced (Rs 463.84 Crore) in the two districts.
Public Relations Officer MSEDCL Vikas Adhe said in terms of consumer percentage selecting the upper Aurangabad zone online payment above the graph with 84.4% – around RS 307 Crore from the total RS 364 Crore Bill produced.
It was followed by Bhandup Zone with 84% (RS 834 Crore) of the bill which was realized through online payments in November.
This was followed by a pune zone (80%) in fourth place.
Response to online payments is very encouraging and increasing too.
“We have implemented a campaign to increase people’s participation because it is beneficial to them during a pandemic because many restrictions imposed on the movement of people,” Adhe said.
High voltage consumers (HT) must require their bills through internet banking facilities given their bill value of more than Rs 10,000 per month.
All other consumers – housing, commercial and industrial – have other options.
“Interesting factors are that low voltage consumers – housing, commercial or even industry – who pay their bills online qualify for a discount of 0.25%, up to the RS 500, which is reflected in the following month’s bill,” Adhe said.
He also shows that all bill payments, are not included done through credit cards, free of all types of service costs.
“Because this is as good as paying bills and getting discounts, we urge people to follow the system and go for online payments,” Adhe said.
Online payment modes are welcomed by residents, especially those who work, because it is difficult for them to find time to visit the Bill Collection Center.
