Mangaluru: The coastal district of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi registered a surge worried in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases reported, with 76 people who tested positive for Coronavirus novel on Saturday.
Spikes along the coast are amid the concern of the Omicron variant which contributes to Covid calculations throughout Karnataka.
Of the 76 cases in two districts, Dakshina Kannada reported 48 cases, took an active cashier to 187.

Ashok H said that the Ministry of Health has identified two clusters – one on Bantwal, and others in the city of Mangaluru.
While five cases were reported in Kasaba in Bantwal, other clusters were identified in Bejai where four were confirmed infected.
“In Kasaba, those who tested positively had traveled to Bengaluru, while the samples of people in Bejai were collected before they departed,” said Dr.
Ashok.as as many as 28 people were tested positive for the Coronavirus novel in Udupi District, where two came from Udupi Taluk, while the two remaining people were confirmed infected in Kundapur.
