Bengaluru: Three men brandishing a country-made gun has broken into a jewelry store at Mes Road, Jalahalli, North Bangaluru on September 2020, and escaped with an article worth Rs 90 Lakh.
Forensic experts managed to extract fingerprints from one suspect from the crime scene and found that it fits the old offenders whose samples are already in the database.
The arrest led police officials to two other feet and recovery of all intense booty.
This is one of 207 cases that are cracked in 2020 by city police with the help of fingerprint verification.
This year recorded a leap of 80% in the breakthrough on 2019 when 113 cases were resolved.
Although more cracked cases used fingerprints in the state in 2020 from 2019, the leap was not spoken like in Bengaluru.
While 401 cases have been completed in 2019, the number rose 25% to touch the following 527 years.
Ordinary theft, home theft, robbery, dacoities and rape cases are usually solved using fingerprints.
Recently, the police RT Nagar arrested a pair with a robbery and recovered 193 grams of gold from them.
The couple had hit a house in RT Nagar in August but left sufficient fingerprints at the crime scene to follow up.
They were found to match the couples who had been captured before and enlarged in the guarantee in March this year.
