Coimbatore: A total of nine students tested positive for Covid-19 in the Tirupur district on Monday.
As a guide from the district collector to close the school that reported more than three cases for three days, two schools were closed for three days on Monday.
One school reported four cases, others reported three cases, and two more schools reported one positive case respectively.
Class XII girl students from government governments in Veerapandi were tested positively Covid-19 on Monday.
“Two girls from class XI from the Government of Arignar Anna higher school in Vellakovil were tested positive for viruses on Monday.
The school was closed until Wednesday for disinfection work,” said the District Head of Education R Ramesh said.
Because of the reopening of the school this month, 45 students and 15 teachers have been tested positive in this district.
All students have shown mild symptoms.
“We are very monitoring whether the school follows the standard operating procedure (SOP) which is arranged by the state government,” said Vineeth collector Tirupur.
As children meet after a long time, they tend to forget social distance.
But we have asked for school to strictly follow the SOP, he said.
Spread virus is limited, and we cannot see the clusters that appear, he added.
