Udupi: Memorial Hospital (Mission) Lombard has been selected as a training provider for Frontline Covid Warriors to handle the potential of the third wave of Covid infection.
Dr.
Sushil Jathanna, Director of the Hospital said this training was sponsored by the National Skills Development Board and the Ministry of Skills and Entrepreneurship Development (MSDE) in collaboration with the Indian Healthcare Provider Association and the training costs will be borne by MSDE.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a customized crash course in June 2021 to meet the covid frontline workers’ deficit skilled throughout the country.
The role of new work identified including basic care support, emergency maintenance support, advanced care support, sample collection support, home care support and medical equipment support.
This training will include intensive class training and work training in various settings under the supervision of medical staff and nurses.
This initiative will support various state and district administration in their struggle against Covid-19 and will help reduce the excessive workload of doctors and nurses while always being under their supervision, said Dr Jatanna.
The training program will be led by Dr.
Suja Karkada and Veena Menezes from Lombard College of Nursing, Udupi.
