Mysuru: A driver of the Central Religious Studies in Mysuru Timur was arrested for allegedly suspected of raping a prisoner and attacked him with a knife at the Narasimharaja police limit on Friday.
According to the source of the police, a 23-year-old woman, a detainee of a religious center, has complained that she was sexually attacked by a young man when he was in the middle of the afternoon when nothing was there.
It was around 2pm when the girl came to file a complaint.
He initially claimed that an unknown young man entered the Institute at around 2:00 p.m.
pleading alms and trying to harass him sexually.
A police team headed by DCP (Law and order) Pradeep Gunti launched an immediate investigation.
After a preliminary investigation, the police had suspicions that the girl knew the attacker.
When asked, he finally admitted it, police said.
Police Commissioner Chandragupta said the defendant who was known to be captured in a few hours after the FIR was registered.
