Gorakhpur: Civil Aviation Ministers Union Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday announced the RS 255 Crore budget for Kushinagar International Airport.
He said that flights were expected to start from Kushinagar International Airport from October.
The airport director said, “Even though the ministers have announced the budget, we have no detail about expenses.
However, the funds will definitely be used in resolving the rest of the work.” The foundation, terminal building, ATC, Fire, electrical substation and fiber optic work is complete.
Appointment of officers, technical and administrative staff has also been carried out.
ILS (DOPLER FREQUENCY DOPLER FREQUENCY RANGE OMNI) must be installed, and the request for the installation of ILS has been sent, told the airport director.
Atport Indian authorities have demanded 34 hectares of land from the state government for ILS.
Magistrate Joint Purna Bohra said that on demand, the process of land acquisition was underway.
The airport is spread at 600 hectares of land.
In June 2020, Kushinagar Airport was given international status, and in February 2021, the airport received all the permits needed from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to be recognized as an international airport.
