Jaipur: The Rajasthan Assembly passes the Mandatory Registration of the Marriage (Amendment) of the Bill 2021 in the middle of the outgoing of the opposition on Friday.
The opposition accuses that the provision of mandatory marriage registration even underage children is a violation of the initial actions and will promote a child’s marriage.
Speaking on the bill, the development of urban areas and the Minister of Housing Shanti Dhariwal said it was brought to obey the commandment of the Supreme Court.
He clarified that underage marriage registration does not mean that it has become a legal and for officials to start acts against violators.
Even though the opposition demanded the division of the bill, the house passed the sound sound which resulted in a walk-out.
Section 8 of the law states that if the parties in marriage have not resolved the age of marriage, parents or guardians must be responsible for submitting applications within 30 days.
It has been decided to combine the provision of marriage registration in the event of a party / party death (husband or wife) too.
Opposition also objects to this provision.
But Dhariwal said the wedding certificate was a legal document needed to utilize many of the benefits of the government, including reservations for widows in government services, pensions, etc.
While Part 5 Rajasthan Registration of MPRIAWAN Law, 2009, provides the appointment of district marriage registration officers, the government with amendments has decided to appoint additional marriage registration officers and block wedding registration officers to monitor and review the registration work at the district and blocks that are welcomed by all .
