Chennai: Minister of Finance and Human Resources Tamil Thiamivel Thiamel Rajan on Friday said in Madurai that he did not participate in the GST council meeting in Lucknow because of the previous commitment in elections and there was nothing important to be discussed at the meeting per agenda sent to the country part.
He has received an invitation for the meeting only after September 10 and made him forgiven by telling the Chairman of Minister M K Stalin that he had committed to participating in many events in Madurai.
As per the initial agenda received, nothing seems important, and it was decided that the Finance Secretary and Commissioner for commercial tax would attend the name, he said.
“However, in additional items sent 3-4 days ago, there are 5-6 important items in GST compensation and I read a 500-odd page and answer each item in detail at the TN stand,” he said.
In his speech filed on The council meeting, Thiaga Rajan said TN opposed the move to include the sale of petroleum products under the GST regime because it was one of the several tax rights countries that had a post-GST regime.
Country concerns improve various types since the center raised taxation between 500% and 1,000% since 2014.
And also the fact that the center has changed the mixture of this taxation from more than 90% excise (shared with the state) and less than 10% and additional costs (not distributed with the state) in 2014 to only about 4% of the rest in the form of excise and break 96% as CESS and additional costs.
“Also, we do not expect the union government to say there is no dial-in option to attend Meeting and that it was 100% physical, which was announced a few days ago, “he said.
