LONDON: Jesse Lingard scored an amazing final goal and David De Gea saved the punishment of cessation when Manchester United beat West Ham United 2-1 in a dramatic Premier League match on Sunday.
Lingard’s replacement for Gedebuk’s shot to the upper corner in the 89th minute against his former club, but West Ham was awarded the penalty moment later for the hand ball by Defender Luke Shaw.
Mark Mulia stepped to take a penalty immediately after leaving the bench but De Gea was guessing correctly and diving to keep his kick away.
West Ham has advanced with a half-hour sign with an attack deflected from Benrahma but the visitors answered five minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo headed for Bruno Fernandes’s cross at Lukasz Fabianksi and followed up the ball to the internet.
It was Ronaldo’s fourth goal in three matches after the net twice on his second debut for the club against Newcastle United and once in the Champions League 2-1 defeat on Tuesday.
The Portuguese had the opportunity in the second half before Lingard’s strike when he returned to play by the Portuguese team, but Fabianksi foiled his efforts with his legs.
Ronaldo also denied penalties after the challenge of Vladimir Coefal.
Manchester United are second in the Premier League standings with 13 points from five matches while West Ham has eight after suffering their first defeat this season.
