Ahmedabad: The main IBM Global Information Technology is scouting for space in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (Gift City) in Gandhinagar to build the label lab.
Multinational giants will most likely take 1.5 lakh square feet (sq.ft.) gradually, market source said.
IBM Software Lab, as part of expansion in Gujarat, plans to form a product engineering center, design and development of sophisticated software.
Even though the company has announced that it works to establish a proposed center in Ahmedabad, it also explores the possibility in the city gift, said source.
“IBM is looking for space in the gift city and the company learns to get a price offer from developers in the gift city,” added the source.
According to market sources, the company is looking at 1.5 lakh foot in the gift city in stages with 50,000 square feet it is likely to be taken for development in the first phase for the next six months.
“However, things at the initial stage,” added the source.
When contacted by IBM India stated that the company expanded opportunities to talented people in all major cities (outside Metro) in India for the benefit of their customers.
“We are pleased that the expansion of the IBM software lab in Gujarat will accelerate the development of digital skills and innovation – provide a strong foundation for the IT / ITES sector in the state,” added IBM India without providing specific details about its plans in prizes.

In August, the IBM India Managing Director Sandip Patel and IBM India Software ‘Vice President Gaurav Sharma had met with former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and senior government officials to discuss the IBM software lab operations expansion in Gujarat, which also included the establishment of product engineering, Design and software development center in Ahmedabad.
