Lucknow: Even when crimes against children declined, violations committed by adolescents jumped up to 23% by 2020, according to the statistics of the National Crowns Records (NCRB) Bureau.
A total of 976 crimes were carried out by children in 2019 which rose to 1,282 in 2020.
Data showed that 238 crime cases were carried out by minors under the Posco law, followed by theft (75) and rape (54) cases ).
Of 1,282 minors were booked in 2020, at least 575 had passed the 10th grade.
According to the cities recorded in the NCRB report, Lucknow recorded 120 cases of crime committed by adolescents by the 2020, up from 63 which was reported in 2019 .
