Secunderabad: A scare dengue that looms big in some parts of Secunderabad Cantonment.
Senior health officials said 30 cases of dengue fever had been reported in the Cantonment between the first week and the third week of September.
The majority of cases reported from Mahendra Hills, Bowenpally and Rasoolpura, while Pickets and Bolaram counted fresh DHF cases.
It has left health officials and the Cantonment Cantonment Council worried.
The Telangana staff of the medical department and health swung into the actions and observes the area, asking about the DHF cases.
In Rasoolpura, 40 percent of the population are locals, while 40 percent are migrants.
Ch narasimha, malaria sub-unit officers, told TOI that Dengue cases continued to increase in the Cantonment.
“A large number of cases are looking at densely populated areas – such as slums and people who live along Nalas.
We have been told SCB health and sanitation wings to take sanitation in war-footing, “he said.
Health workers visit the affected area and explain the steps that must be followed to prevent mosquito breeding by maintaining proper sanitation.
“Our team is taking fogging and spraying anti-larvae,” said a senior SCB official.

The official said residents were given health tips on how to prevent the spread of dengue fever.
“The case of dengue fever can be more as the majority of the population approaches the company’s hospital and takes care there,” said a health official.
Since Dengue patients were not treated at the Cantonment of Urban Puskesmas, people were heading to the company’s hospital for treatment, officials said.
