Purulia: Purulia judge on Tuesday was sentenced to death, a three and a half year old child and a 70-year-old widow’s appointment with whom he lived to kill the girl by stabbing seven four-inch needles in his personal part to heal him from the disease.
In the July 2017 incident that had shocked Bengal leads to a 10-day battle by the doctor and surgeon, first at Medical College Purulia Hospital, then Medical College Bankura Hospital and finally at the SSKM hospital to save the child.
The seven needles were released with surgery, but the child could not be saved.

The police shifted the child to Purulia Hospital where X-rays detected seven needles stuck on his chest, the lower abdomen and the private section.
Sanatan escaped on July 12 and a FIR was submitted against it.
Mangala was arrested a day after the child’s death on July 22.
A four-member police team from Purulia first traveled to Delhi to question Kin Santan.
Police knew that one of his close relatives lived in Pipri up in the Sonbhadra district and worked in a cable company.
The company’s employee database led the police to his relatives, and then went to Sanatan, who hid at his pipri house.
On September 12, the police submitted a Chargesheet 550 pages in 57 days.
The Sananan family not only refused to help him with a lawyer, but his son-in-law also testified to him.
After a four-year trial where Mangala and Sanatan were arrested, Judge Pradhan on Friday punished them due to murder, criminal conspiracy, and general intentions.
