Nagpur: criticized the authorities for the deteriorating conditions of the national highway passing from Amravati to Jalgaon through Akola, Nagpur Bench High Court Bombay on Wednesday search for repair and widening work status status reports.
The Sunil Shukre and Anil Division Bench also demanded a progress report on the National Highway Authority (NHAI) claiming to make a stretch between Nagpur and Amravati, smooth and strong for vehicle traffic, with photographic evidence.
“We direct respondents to submit on the road map they provide detailed plans and time where, all work will be completed and NH-53 from Nagpur to Malkapur is made suitable for vehicle traffic,” said the judge before postponing his hearing until September 29.
The direction came when he heard pills (no 22/2019) by Arun Patil’s lawyer through Counsel Firdos Mirza highlighting the sad condition of the Amergravati-Akola-Jalgaon Road and Wardha-Sindhkhed Raja Road which led to many accidents and fatal losses of valuable life.
“It seems that the NH-53 (formerly NH-6) has made repairs and the widening process for more than five to six years.
However, instead of seeing an increase in these conditions, there was a setback,” said the bench.
Mirza shows that stretching between Nagpur and Amravati is in poor condition because there is no improvement carried out.
He argues that there is a large hole in many places and the possibility of an accident that leads to the loss of human life and valuable property is a grave.
He said while the toll religiously was collected by contractors, the task to keep the road well maintained and friendly users regularly violated.
Nhai Counsel Aneesh Kathane then looked for a week, stating that she did not store it well.
In the last trial, on September 18, 2019, HC had explained that it would appoint the court commissioner to oversee the process of repair, after the authorities failed to improve poor highway conditions.
Judges have asked Mirza to call the people who will be in the court commissioner after that he suggested the inclusion of Chief Engineer, a justice officer and a lawyer at a speed of 25 km per day by highlighting the dangerous condition of 485km Amravati-Akola-Jalgaon-Fagane Highway .
Tourists through terrible time because the expansion came to the termination of grinding for more than two years after NHAI’s concession holder went bankrupt because of the financial crisis.
