Rajkot: A young man from Virpur was arrested from his home on Tuesday for creating a false profile on Instagram and making obscene demands from a woman by extorting it.
Kishan Dabhi, which was accused of 24 years, was tracked using technical resources after a woman from Gondal had filed a complaint to the Cybercrime police station.
According to the police, Dabhi created a fake account of a woman and began chatting with a complainant on Instagram.
After winning the woman’s trust, Dabhi asked him to talk through video calls.
When the woman answered the call, she was first surprised to find Dabhi instead of a woman and who surprised her further was that Dabhi was naked.
The defendant took the screen catch from the video call with a woman’s face was seen in it and began to squeeze it.
He made obscene demands from him and threatened to make a viral photo if demands were not fulfilled.
“Using our technical resources, we arrested the defendant.
We also appeal to other women to advance and file complaints if they were also harassed by the defendant,” said a police officer.
