Ghaziabad: By approaching winter, the district pollution control board has produced a unique way to examine air pollution in the Ghaziabad industrial area.
The Uttar Pradesh (UPPCB) pollution controller agency, in fact, requested all industrial units, especially those in Sahibabad, to place a signboard arising in their factory chimney so that the polluting industry can be easily identified and punished.
Officials said that residents living around industrial areas in the past were posted chimney images that emit black smoke seen but in many cases, the factory in question could not be identified.
However, with this new initiative, the mistaken factories can appear identified, they said.
“There are around 350 pollutants in 11 Ghaziabad industrial zones, many of which are around housing areas such as those in Sahibabad.
We have directed all industry to put a signboard in their chimney,” said Utsav Sharma, regional officers, UPPCB.
“This has been done because we often face problems in identifying pollution units even after receiving complaints along with photos.” Industries have been directed to obey the uppcb command on September 30.
“We will begin industrial inspections since the first week of October and actions will be taken against those who fail to obey the same,” Sharma said.
In related development, Ghaziabad District Judge held all stakeholders on September 20 against the background of the National Green Tribunal (NGT) order to examine pollution in Kaushambi Township in the middle of the body proposed by the local population, Karwa.
Vinay Kumar Mittal, President of Karwa, told Tii, “There was a delayed case in NGT and the Supreme Court for the issue of pollution in Kaushambi And the meeting which took place on September 20 was held in accordance with the Green Tribunal order.
