Ranchi: Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) on Thursday told Jharkhand High Court Judge Dhanbad Uttam Anand “intentionally” was torn down by the authorickshaw driver who was accused on July 28, causing his death.
Appeared in front of the Chair of the Division of the Chairman of Ravi Rajan and Justice Narayan Prasad Online Court, Director Joid Zone East Zone Probe Sharad Agarwal said the CBI had placed his officer on a round task behind the death of the judge.
While emphasizing that the death of the judge was not an accident but intentional, agarwal, however, said the theory of conspiracy behind death needs to be investigated.
After hearing it, the bench observed that the death of a judge was the first of its kind in the country and had shook the morale of the justice.
“Time is essence in this investigation and more and more time is spent, the more difficult to ensure the truth,” Bench said.
Agarwal also told the court that the driver of the Autorickshaw, Lakhan Sharma, was a perpetrator and previously made cellular theft.
“He has changed his statement and CBI did everything to achieve the depth of this problem,” the officer said.
Uttam Judge Anand was walking in the morning near Randhir Verma Chowk, a luxurious area in Dhanbad, on July 28 at 5 am, when he was hit by an autorickshaw.
This vehicle has passengers sitting in front together with the driver.
CCTV footage shows motorbike riders behind the autorickshaw and pay attention to injured judges on the ground but leave without providing assistance.
Anand lay on the road without supervision and then rushed to the hospital where he gave up on his injury.
The police have taken an investigation with the Dhanbad SSP at first with DGP assuring the fast investigation court.
However, the government recommends the CBI investigation later.
The CBI took the problem on August 4 and tried to connect the shared points but had not reached a major breakthrough.
The High Court has also monitored the CBI investigation.
Agency has submitted reports sealed to court at the investigation stage carried out so far in this case.
