Bokaro: Two Contractual Workers Bokaro Steel Limited (BSL) was injured in the slag explosion at the plant’s steel smelting shop on Friday morning.
One of the injured workers, which was identified as Kishore Kumar (24), a sustainable big injury in one of his eyes and was referred to a hospital in West Bengal, while other workers, G Ansari (28), suffered a minor injury in his hand.
The BSL source said Kumar and Ansari were working on the page when the incident occurred.
The explosion damaged a portion of the roof of the page and the window panel was destroyed.
Ansari, who was standing next to Kumar, was injured when hot slag lay in his hand.
Both were taken to the Bokaro General Hospital (BGH).
Sangram Singh, Secretary General of the Trade Union, said: “Kumar was taken to West Bengal for treatment.
He was left unattended for almost 45 minutes at BGH when the doctor did not come to pay attention to him.”
