Mumbai: When the country reported below 3,500 cases of Covid for the fifth consecutive day, Mumbai reported a slight decline on Friday but continued to report more than 400 cases.
Maharashtra reported 3,286 cases and 51 deaths on Friday, while the city reported 446 cases and 6 deaths, took the total number of cases to 7.40,305 and the victim became 16,074.
Meanwhile, after a decrease in the number of cases of everyday before the Ganesh festival, the NMMC area has reported an increase in new cases in recent days.
The total active case has risen to 647 from the lowest level of 525 recorded on September 14 and 15.
The weekly average case has also jumped to 65 per day from 51 two weeks ago.
On the other hand, the death rate has come down now, and no death recorded in the last few days.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Municipal Mumbai additional Suresh Kakani said the average case detected in Mumbai remained consistent between 300-400 even a month after the local train began.
In addition, in the past month, almost 2 Lakh had entered the city.
“This is the case of reverse migration that we have tracked at the environment level.
The point is there is no Spurt despite heavy mobilization,” Kakani said.
Environmental level exercises are being carried out to track people who have returned from their place of origin post-ganpati.
Kakani said he had reviewed such cases and tests carried out where people had symptoms.
“In certain wards, up to 8,000 people who have been traced again, and they will be followed up for symptoms,” he said.
In terms of death, Mumbai has reported less than 100 deaths in September, accounting less than 7% of deaths in Maharashtra.
State officials said the situation was controlled, but the celebration season and further than the sector could lead to a surge if treatment was not taken.
