RAJKOT: The neighborhood crime division (LCB) of rural authorities busted a group that tricked medical gear and drug dealers by luring them social websites promising to supply them pulse oximeters and other gear such as Covid-related drugs at a lower price.
Cops detained Jayvin Mangecha (36), also a resident of Raiya Road at Rajkot and Vahid Rafai (30), a resident of Jetpur city who has thus far admitted to siphoned Rs 28 lakh out of 30 dealers and healthcare owners from across 13 nations.
According to authorities the duo utilized GST amount, address and name of a Jetpur-based company and started many fake accounts on facebook.
They published several images of pulse oximeters, hand gloves, hand sanitizers, remdesivir vials along with other useful Covid-related items posing as the proprietors of Shreenathji trading company.
Apart from offering these items at a far more affordable rate in majority, the duo also gained dealers’ confidence by offering the company’s GST amount and seeing card together with pictures.
LCB police inspector, AR Gohil explained,”They’d supplied several cellular numbers in their imitation facebook IDs.
When someone approached them they was able to reveal a few oximeters, sanitizers on movie calls and might maintain empty cartons at the backdrop.
In addition they would reveal folks invoices of different dealers and gain their confidence.
” If any dealer wanted to put an order that the duo would request them to deposit the advance sum in their bank accounts.
Butonce the cash is deposited, they’d keep streamlining delivery of those merchandise under different pretexts like lack of distribution, non access to transport before shifting off the amount.
According to a police complaint, most of those 30 dealers that they cheated three are out of Gujarat containing 2 from Ahmedabad and also one from Gandhidham.
The trio has been scrapped to get Rs 4.
14 lakh.
The other dealers go to Telangana, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Uttrakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand and Karnataka.
