Gandhinagar: Nima Acharya, MLA Party Bharatiya Janata from Bhuj at Kutch District, will be the first speaker of Gujarat.
After the BJP was formally nominated: Nima Acharya for the legislative speaker post on Friday, Congress supported his nomination, opening the way for him was elected unrivaled, when the Assembly met on September 27 for two-day Monsun sessions.
The speaker post fell passively like Rajendra Trivedi stopped earlier this month and was appointed to the new Council of Ministers.
Trivedi and Head of BJP Whip Pankaj Desai handed over Acharya’s nomination as the speaker and Jetha Bharwad as representatives of the speaker.
“Secretary of the Assembly has examined and received a nomination paper from Nimaben and Jetha Bharwad.
Opposition leader Paresh Dhanani also supports Nimaben nominations for posting,” Trivedi said on Friday.
Congress, while supporting Nima Acharya’s nomination, opposed Bharwad’s nomination as a representative of the speaker.
“BJP has violated the tradition of opposition candidates to representatives of the speaker,” said Dhanani, added that the Congress would involve a candidate for the position of vice speaker.
With BJP naming candidates and Congress for the time the speaker’s post, the election seems unavoidable when the house met on September 27 for the Monsun session.
BJP enjoyed the majority of Comfanganble with 112 mlaz at a member of the member182, while the strength of the Congress in the Assembly was 65.
Acharya began a political career with Congress Nima Acharya won the Anjar assembly seat in the 2002 election on Congress tickets, but then joined BJP after her husband and six members of the Municipal Court Gandhidham turned to BJP from Congress.
A doctor, Acharya won the 2007 assembly election of the Anjar Constituency in 2007 with BJP tickets.
He has represented the constituency of the Assembly Bhuj as MLA for the last two conditions – 2012 and 2017 – on BJP tickets.
