Gurgaon: The corporation of the city of Gurgaon (MCG) has filed a police complaint against the sanitation contractor for non-payment of salaries to sanitation workers.
Workers, accused non-payment of salaries, have submitted three complaints with MCG.
They have also protested at the MCG office for the past few days.
MCG has involved Sai Enterprise to carry out sweeping work in the area through work orders issued in June.
Officials said they had made monthly payments to the company in accordance with the terms of the agreement and the company was responsible for payment of salaries and wages to sanitation workers.
Sanitation workers are employed by the company.
Sanitation workers accuse that contractors do not pay for their work.
They accused when they asked for their salary, the contractor harassed and threatened them with terrible consequences, including death to be removed from the service.
“We have not paid a salary for several months.
The contractor becomes rude every time someone demands their salary,” said Ramrattan, a sanitation worker.
Ashok and Sunil, both sanitation workers, said the contractor issued threats to those who demanded salary and stop sanitation workers without paying them.
“Cannot get a response from the contractor, we are left with the only choice to protest in front of the MCG office,” Ashok said.
“MCG made a monthly payment to the contractor but he did not pass with salary to sanitation workers.
MCG has filed a complaint against the contractor,” said a sanitation officer MCG, Bijender Sharma.
Based on complaints, a case was registered based on part 406 (criminal violations of trust) IPC at the conscious police station.
A MCG official said that the corporation has opened an escrow account, which the salaries of workers will be credited and the contractor will only accept allegations of their services.
