Guwahati: Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Union Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday at an event here said oil and gas projects worth Rs 1 lakh Crore have been approved for the northeastern region (NER), which is expected to be completed in 2025.
He also announced.
That one of the oldest operating refinances in the world, Digboi refineries in Assam, will be expanded.
The minister, who spoke on the program above Hulu and NER oil, also asked investors to actively participate in the oil and gas sector.
Puri said that NER, with its abundant natural resources, rich cultural heritage and great opportunities for growth, are in the center of our country’s development agenda.
“Ner is very important for India.
In line with his intention to quickly change the region, the Government Government has carried out many major initiatives to increase infrastructure and strengthen economic development,” said Minister.
“There is a large potential hydrocarbon that is waiting to be tapped 6.85 MMT in the next four years.
Gas production is expected to be more than double than 5.05 BCM at 2020-21 to 10.87 BCM in the next four years, “he said.
Speaking on that occasion, Chairman of Himanta Minister Buswa Sarma extended full support in exploration activities.
He said the state government took steps to provide initial environmental permits for oil and gas projects.
He said Assam’s contribution to this well-known sector and that he wanted exploration activities to increase further.
