Reykjavik: In the first in Europe, women hold more than half of the seats in the New Parliament of Iceland, the final election results show Sunday.
Of the 63 seats in ALthing, 33 won by women.
According to data compiled by the World Bank, no other European countries have more than 50 percent of women’s parliamentarians, with Sweden come closest to 47 percent.
