Dharwad: Narendra Modi Government-LED in the center is committed to develop the railway infrastructure and facilities in the country and Karnatak also will benefit by this in large part, the Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said.
Speaking after performing Bhoomi Pooja for road construction on the bridge (Rob) near Gate Railway Kalyan Nagar here on Sunday, Joshi immediately said that the fast passenger trains ‘Vande Mataram’ between Dharwad and Bangalore will be introduced.
He says Rob connecting Kalyan Nagar, Ram Nagar and Danu Nagar to Malamaddi and the rest of Dharwad will come at a cost of Rs 13.7 Crore and Karnatak government will bear 50% of the cost.
Joshi said the new platform at the Railway Station Hubballi will be the longest in the country and Dharwad Railway Station has been rebuilt into a high-tech station.
Ensuring all the support from the central and state governments, he asked SWR General Manager Sanjiv Kishore to develop the facility to ensure that the travel time between Dharwad and Bangalore reduced to five hours.
Joshi said that the emphasis has been laid on a railway line doubling and electrification.
Hubballi doubling job-Bangalore railway has been completed until Chikjajur and the works are expected to be completed by March, 2023.
Electrification will also be completed in December 2023, he said.
With the doubling of the railway line, the new train ‘Vande Mataram’ will run between Dharwad and Bangalore, he added.
This apart, new railway lines along the national highway Pune-Bengaluru is being taken and this will reduce the travel time of more than three hours.
Nearly 60% of the acquisition of the road for a new railway line has been completed and to start the project, 80% of land acquisition should be completed.
He promised that in the next three months, the acquisition will be completed and handed over to the Indian railways to start the project.
The Minister said that in the last seven years (2014-21), Modi government has sanctioned Rs 3,245 crore to SWR which has enabled it to fulfill some pending rail projects in the region.
Work-VASCO HOSAPETE 340KMS electrification has been completed up to Alnavar and will be completed in the next six months.
Dharwad stations have been upgraded with the amount of Rs 20 crore, he said.
Speed railway goods also increased from 14 per hour to 50 km per hour.
Special corridors for speedy movement of goods trains has also been proposed, he said.
Attempts to eliminate all Gatesswr Railway General Manager Unmanned Sanjiv Kishore said that SWR make every effort to eliminate unmanned railway gate to build road bridges and roads.
In the last two years, 117 Robs scrub and 30 have been built.
SWR has set a target to build 16 Robs and 56 rub for safe crossing.
GM said SWR has completed 176 km of work doubling and electrification work 521KMS.
For this year, 270 km of rail track doubling and electrification work 729KMS been proposed.
Previous Joshi is dedicated to the public the newly built underpass near Railway Station Unakal in Hubballi.
SWR has built 33,66mtr length, width and height 7,5mtr 4.5mtr under the bridge and cement concrete road 6.6 km connecting Shiradi Nagar and Unakal.
