PANAJI: Former CM veteran official and Veteran Congress Luizinho Faleiro resigned as MLA and from parties on Monday and tended to join the Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Kolkata on Wednesday.
“I have resigned as MLA and I have resigned as the main member of the Congress, but is part of the Congress family,” Faleiro said.
Toi is the first to report that Faleiro will resign as MLA and from Congress on Monday.
“I haven’t left Congress.
Congress philosophy, Congress ideology, Congress principles and Congress programs will always be close and dear to me,” Faleiro, who always claimed to be a “loyal warrior” party, said.
He also wrote a letter to the President of Congress Sonia Gandhi, with whom he had a close relationship, told him that he “decided” Congress when he saw “absolutely no hope” or willingness to prevent party collapse.
In his letter, Faleiro described Congress in Goa as a “cruel parody”, led by “Coterie Leader” which had failed to take BJP and question the lack of accountability after 13 Congress MLAS left and joined BJP.
The source said Faleiro had been offered the Sabha’s Rajya chair by TMC, and the party wants to use his long task in the northeastern region as AICC responsible for helping to strengthen the base there.
“I will decide whether I will compete or not.
But I will lead the movement in the country of Goa and in the country,” Faleiro said.
Former Navelim MLA claims that his resignation will function as a call for the unification of various parties who share the ideology of Congress.
Faleiro said Minister of Bengal Bengala Barat Mamata Banerjee could present a strong opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP.

With the resignation of Faleiro, the strength of the Congress has decreased to four in the 40 members of the Goa legislature.
In the election of the 2017 assembly, under his leadership, Congress appeared as the largest single party with 17 seats but could not form the government.
