Bengaluru: Four people, including two of Iran, were arrested by the Center Crime Branch police on Sunday when they came to Dj Halli, East Bengaluru, to sell narcotics.
Police said the main suspect – Javad Rostampour Ghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhrop, from Iran – Grew Hydroponic marijuana in his village in a golf village from Bidadi, about 30 km from here.
Javad, fellow Mohammadi Barogh, 35, (from Kaverinagar, near DJ Halli), Mohammed Mohsin Uz Alias Mohsin, 31, from RK Hegde Nagar, and Mohsin Khan, 30, from Fraser Town tried to sell narcotics at Kaverinagar on Sunday afternoon.
Acting on credible information, the police team headed by Inspector Deepep R and BS Ashok arrested them.
Narcotics worth Rs 1 Crore called Police recovered marijuana, LSD strip and hydroponic marijuana from them, but did not realize they had ruled the large racket of cultivation and hydroponic sales of marijuana.
The accusation admitted that Javad cultivated hydroponic marijuana in his villa.
The police raided the villa and grabbed 130 hydroponic marijuana plants, 12.8 kg of hydroponic dried marijuana and bushweed marijuana strips and LSDs, all worth more than Rs 1 Crore.Container Jars, UV lights, vacuum packing lights, cars and cellphones also recovered.
Two more suspects – Prateek Jain and Jitendra Jain – in general.
According to sources, the gang is used to grow and sell hydroponic marijuana because it is far more expensive than bushweed.
Peddler sold 10GM normal marijuana between Rs 300 and Rs 500, but 10GM from hydroponic marijuana picked him up more than Rs 5,000.
